For tweens and teens (ages 11 - 18) who are playing at an intermediate to advanced level (Suzuki Book 5+ or equivalent) and are highly motivated to build healthy and efficient musical habits.

Daily Activities
9:00 - 9:30 Morning Gathering
warm-ups, journaling and reflection, special topics, led by a different faculty member each day
9:30 - 11:00 Supervised Practice
work on your technique, different passages in your music, faculty float between students offering help and suggestions, check in regularly with your practice buddy, another student who is a similar age/level for feedback, encouragement, and accountability
11:00 - 12:00 Music Theory for Strings or Keyboard Harmony for Pianists
expand knowledge of key signatures, intervals, scales, rhythmic reading and tonal harmony
12:00 - 1:00 Lunch Break (same time as GPSI lunch)
1:00 - 2:00 (Mon., Wed., Fri.) Musical Influences
learn about a variety of current artists who are doing innovative things in the field of music, listen to recordings, watch videos and hear from special guest speakers
1:00 - 2:00 (Tues. and Thurs.) Physical Toning for Musicians
understand the anatomy that goes into playing our instruments and the importance of conditioning our bodies and breath and using them efficiently in our craft
2:00 - 3:00 Personal Practice/Ensemble Coaching/Technique Pull-Outs
additional hour of practice, time to rehearse or have a coaching with your ensemble, or a time for teachers to work on special techniques and scales with small groups
3:00 - 4:30 Performance Class/Practice Strategies/Special Events
an opportunity to perform for the whole group with feedback from both students and faculty in a supportive environment, lectures and demonstrations on practice strategies and techniques, presentations from faculty and other special guests
